WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE OF
CLANGIN' & BANGIN'
SAN FRANCISCO'S ORIGINAL BLUES & BOOGIE DUO

CLANGIN' & BANGIN'  was started by Kirby Lee Hammel & Jake Alexander as a way to spread the positive vibes of blues, honky-tonk, and boogie music to the masses. Equally influenced by the music coming out of Chicago in the 20s and 30s, the pre-jazz era, the New Orleans tradition, and the honky-tonks down in Texas, Clangin' & Bangin' take to the streets like many of their idols before them. Armed with an upright piano and drum kit, they're bringing that feel-good music and spirit back to the streets where it all started...

You can find Clangin' & Bangin' playing their unique blend of fully acoustic music any given day of the week throughout the Bay Area. They perform regularly for the San Francisco Giants inside AT&T Park and throughout the bay with Off the Grid. They have been sighted at a multitude of festivals and events including the What-If Festival in Colorado, the Richmond Spirit & Soul Festival, and Drake's Brewery Barrel House's Anniversary and have even been heard over the airwaves on NPR's Weekend Edition and California Report as well as featured in the San Francisco Chronicle's "the City Exposed" section!

"There isn't a space around that Clangin & Bangin can't get jumpin and jivin. The guys always show up on time, liven up the space and bring smiles to everyone around. We love having them play at Off the Grid and the Mission Community Market."    -JEREMY SHAW, "OFF THE GRID" COORDINATOR

"Although the out-of-place piano is what attracts people's attention, it's the music that holds the audience's interest and gets the tip jars filled."    -
MIKE KEPKA, "THE CITY EXPOSED" SF CHRONICLE

"
...this pair may be the best-sounding buskers I have heard in 40 years in San Francisco."
